Have a 13 year old daughter. 95% of noise is mindless chatter. Drifting from topic to topic every few seconds.

Tone, speed of speech, or lack of speech is how she communicates her feelings.

Words themselves are usually meaningless.

Now and then she’ll slow down and have a real conversation.

Her sister is exact opposite. Will tell you in no in uncertain terms what her thoughts and feelings are. No ambiguity.
