Not on most of the cards they make. I was talking in more general terms, every large format GPU should have 2-3 large ass fans so it can run quieter with them running at low rpm instead of one screaming its bearings off.
Given that the 3090 has 2 of them makes me think it would probably actually melt or explode with just one, they wouldn't give you an extra 2 dollars worth of fans on a $2k product for free you know.
I think there's a bit of prejudice going on in this thread based on experiences in the past. The earlier FEs with 1-fan design at the end were indeed not great but the current gen is very nice.
I have the 3080TI FE and it's a really solid card. Very well made, strong metal case. Nowhere is there any exposed board (ESD risks!) except for the obviously necessary PCI header. Fans run fine and are not too noisy and it doesn't overheat.
My last card was an MSI 1080Ti beast and it was just a poor design. Yeah it was a bit quieter but physically and mechanically it wasn't as well designed as this by far. It seemed to have been designed much more for looks than performance.
