If there was a surgery that made people look white, I wonder how many people would get it.



I have read that there are many things people do in Japan to lighten their skin as this is perceived as more beautiful.


The reason is that tanned people got tanned because they had to work.


Can confirm. Used to work on an early version of their "instagram" filters and one of the functions was to whiten skin.
