Should Big Tech companies be able to buy their competitors? (employbl.com)

I think we need some kind of sales tax for large corps that makes it too expensive to be that big.

That’s certainly an idea. People hate taxes though and I feel like the “tax the rich” movement can only go so far in this country. Would love to see some mergers blocked and companies broken up

Just curious, who's on your "should be broken up list"?

Definitely want to elaborate more on this in another post but top of mind..

- Amazon - Meta - Alphabet

I think the main arguments against it will be a) omg this isn't even technically possible to break these companies up and b) omg this will destroy the economy. Looking at history breaking up companies like Standard Oil and AT&T led to explosions of innovation. The prolonged battle against IBM allowed Microsoft to emerge. The antitrust battle against Microsoft allowed today's giants like Amazon and Google to emerge

Microsoft needs to be on your list. They sit on tech advances the exact same way Ma Bell did.

Ya agree. FTC has limited resources tho so I think the order of operations is going to be FB, Google, Apple/Amazon and Microsoft later.

In terms of structural relief would 100% like to see all the cloud computing divisions be spun off as separate companies
