I hear stuff like "Comcast offers the fastest wifi for your gaming needs" anytime I am accidentally exposed to ads.



Assuming most people use the combo modem/router (WAP, technically, since this entire thread is an exercise in pedantry) provided by their ISP, this makes sense from a non-technical user's perspective, if Comcast always ships hardware with the latest Wifi spec. Of course, you need a whole mess of asterisks after that, because I don't think I own a single client device with Wifi 6E, plus network contention, time sharing, etc. Gamers should do what I do and plug a wire thingy from their computer to their Wifi thingy.


Ok, I found a hanger wire in my closet and have plugged one end to my computer power hole and the other into my wifi thingy power hole. Now what?
