I just built a new PC after like 8 years and had to buy a cheaper mobo in order to get access to more PCIe slots. I was baffled why there were so few on them and was wondering if I could even fit 2 video cards on the one I originally wanted. I almost hit buy before I went wait, no something does look wrong, where the hell are all the slots! Definitely a bit of a worrying trend. I expect mobile devices to get shittier and shittier as they remove expandable memory and headphone jacks, but not my precious PCs with so many components to choose from and customize with. Luckily I didn't really need to put any of my old stuff into my new rig so it does indeed look empty. I got that Fractal case that seems like a dream for customizability and it feels like a waste that I'm not utilizing it.
