How does PR review wait time affect your open source project? (gitconnected.com)

Woah - interesting to see a big jump in review wait times for Ruby in 2019. Wonder what happened / how this influenced delivery.

Would be great to see run this analysis on some other OSS projects! Are you going to be open sourcing the code?

Just checked and that repo had much less data in 2019 than the other years, hence the jump. Repo size/volume of activity is indeed something that varies a lot between these repos - but I didn't control for the intentionally because I wanted to see results not just for big, well-funded OSS, but also community/volunteer-driven ones. I think it backs up the argument that we need to be doing more to fund OSS in general.

Might open source the code in the future! In the meantime though, here's a blog post on how I mined the data, including some code snippets: https://medium.com/@jennysahng/how-to-mine-github-data-in-20...

Did some data mining and datavis to see how PR wait times impact contributor experience.

This is great stuff! I read This adjacent research, which seems to complement yours - https://www.arnica.io/blog/how-do-top-open-source-projects-p...
