Better not tell the WHO about the 1000s of other diseases that are actually easily transmissible and kill way more people, imagine if they knew about covid

I think Malaria would like a word.

Why? Does it have life threatening symptoms? Are there millions of cases? Why is this an emergency?

It has, it killed 5 people in 8bn population!

Because declaring an emergency creates fear and fear creates political power.

7 of these (PHEIC) declarations have been made since 2009:

- 2009 Swine flu / H1N1

- 2014 Polio in the MENA region

- 2014 Ebola in Western Africa

- 2015 Zika virus (the virus that caused issues with pregnant womens babies)

- 2018 Kivu Ebola in the DRC

- 2020 COVID-19

- 2022 Monkeypox

When agencies are given power and funding based on needing to respond to an emergency, start expecting a lot of "emergencies."

5 confirmed deaths among 16000 cases in 8bn population, I'm scared for my life with such deadly virus!

Also his panel of advisors voted AGAINST declaring health emergency, on whose payroll is Tedros?

Government's, probably also Pfizer and co, also good friends with Ursula - they exchange tips on how to erase evidence.

Usually we say that The Simpsons did it first, but I think this one goes to Futurama: https://youtu.be/v8Ha6tNvRUg

An untouchable subject.

Sadly, "two weeks [of no dance parties] to slow the spread" could have helped here, but was deemed politically untenable, especially during pride month. So here we are. Blinded me with science indeed.

It's only untouchable if you're one of these modern special people who can't say anything that might offend someone else but the fact is, it only affects a very small subset of people with particular genetic and psychological traits.
