Careers? Is monetary gain the goal of blogging now? ~back in my day~ we posted to our web logs because we had something to share with the world.

It's not a goal, but the idea of monetizing yourself isn't new.

Yes, it's what has destroyed the web. The real webpages are out there but they're all burried under a never ending influx of profit seeking crap.
