Would anyone happen to know how efficient this is in terms of the energy in/out ratio? I would guess 30-50%?

I think pumped storage is 70 to 80 efficient.

I think the Helms Pumped Storage Plant is about 120 million kwh storage(guess).

This is not the world's first pumped storage facility.

Most of them are suprisingly efficient --- the best approaching 90 percent.
