I live in Vienna, Austria. Whenever I try to search for a route by train on Google maps it keeps recommending bike routes. If I had a bike available, I would have searched for it, so why are you suggesting me to ride my bike if I want to go by train?
Sorry for the rant but I just feel like Google is going down hill
It's getting worse and worse at finding places. The fuzzy AI-based search suffers from the same problems as the Google Search counterpart. It tries to get what you mean, while you know what you mean.
It also tends to return a maximum number of results, meaning that it omits random places. I don't want to see some restaurants scattered in the neighborhood, but all restaurants near me.
The UI is catastrophic. How many times do I have to click "X" or "back" to get to the search bar? Why does it keep wildly panning the map away from what I'm looking at? Why can't I search for something without losing the route? Why can't it keep the screen awake without a destination? Why won't it accept that I don't want the shorter route?
OsmAnd is much better in many ways. I love how I can ride my motorbike while displaying photo radars, petrol station and cafés at once. I can also create a multipoint route as I go without manually entering random addresses.
