The thing about the unsubscribe button that I've found, if you use an alias, hackernews@example.com but your 'real' email is mike@example.com (catch-all email), Gmail unsubscribe will submit the 'real' email, mike@example.com, which doesn't work and can back fire by giving spammers your 'real' email.
