What are you working on? Any new ideas you're thinking about?

The day job:

A neurosymbolic-processing app for classifying certain kinds of instrument signals collected in time series.

A UI app for orchestrating some automated anomaly-detection tools.

Not the day job:

A Lisp wrapper for webview.h.

A Lisp wrapper for SQLite for use with one of my apps (it adds some app-specific conveniences on top of cl-sqlite).

Tinkering around with some other Lisp code for various purposes.

Tinkering around with some of my conlangs.

My fourth science fiction novel.

Planning and back story for other novels yet to be written.

Improving my strength and stamina.

New recordings of my songs.

Improving my skill with guitar and Linnstrument.

Some drawings and some computer-generated art.

Planning for expansion of a business owned by one of my children.

Helping my other child learn how to chase guitar tones with amps and pedals.

Planning to adopt a puppy from the same family as the best dog I've ever had, recently deceased due to a rare blood cancer.

I'm working a new book. It's about ethics and hacking. It's at the "social research" stage. What I am trying to do is dispel archetypes and build up a more rounded a idea of how coders and technical people who develop the technology we all use today see the world, and themselves - because those values influence and affect the world in complex ways. Some of that is psychology, observation, probing and direct invitation. I am interested in deconstructing the parochial ideas I likely have from books, films, and my own experience in the computing industry over 30 years. So, for a few months, posting on groups like HN is kinda "work" for me. :)

Peloton for Wealth Growth -- a loss-protected, safe investment account (our "bike") previously unavailable to the masses paired with content & community to help the under-invested & risk-averse achieve their personal wealth goals.

By safe, we mean: low-volatility, proprietary index product that still offers meaningful growth.

We beta-tested the social part. We've applied to YC. We have a global top-5 investment bank partnering to power & provide liquidity for the safer investing.

I run http://bulletpitch.xyz (a free newsletter that reports on startups.)

I am working on getting my carbon fiber laptop stand some protection bumpers so it doesn't scratch plastic laptop housings. Tried many different materials and techniques but haven't found the right thing yet. Need a nice and clean look and able to produce in 4 colors.

If any ideas here would love to hear. > https://www.fiberstand.com

Have you tried TPU?

Felt?

I'm working on an app for donations to well-known NGOs, it's early days so I'm still trying to network and validate concepts with end-users and potential partners.

I have a background in business and design, so haven't started any development yet as I'm looking for a technical partner.

Creating a mobile app for https://gifmemes.io. The current web watermark removal brings about 200 USD/month and I've heard mobile apps supposedly earn more.

I’m trying to figure out how to leave the industry without taking a 50%+ pay cut, since I’ve found out that a) I am bad at software engineering and b) I don’t particularly enjoy it (in the professional setting)

Any interest in moving to something different, but related so you can transfer some/all of your skillset?

I was in the same boat a couple years back, and moved into an SRE role (no pay cut, fortunately) and I'm actually really enjoying the change.

Coinsscreener.com
