I don’t really get what “it” means in the context of this article. Using some actual examples might be nice.



Anything that the company hasn't done before:

- scale our app to 10mil users - fix constant Oracle performance issues - build a data lake - migrate to the new HR system - reorg the IT because Price's law is destroying our bottom line - build a private cloud - design a new microservices-based e-banking app - sell the startup to a FAANG until the end of the year because it's running out of VC money


Not sure it matters. This whole thing could be summarized as:

> Consider context when you're hiring and doing work.

I don't think any number of diagrams and attempts at categorization are going to help people who can't figure that out.
