Google sign-in will soon require JavaScript

Dear Administrator,

Accessing Google accounts with a browser that does not support JavaScript or that has JavaScript turned off does not allow Google to run a complete risk analysis. This puts your organization's accounts at increased risk of phishing and takeover by malicious actors.

As we’re constantly working to improve the security of your organization’s Google accounts and in consideration of the current threat landscape, your users will no longer be able to sign into their Google accounts on browsers that do not support JavaScript or that have JavaScript turned off. This means they won’t be able to access Google Workspace services, such as Gmail and Drive, unless they change to browsers supporting JavaScript or turn it on in their current browsers.

What does this mean for my organization?

Starting on March 24, 2022 users who try to sign in to their Google account from a browser that doesn’t have JavaScript enabled will see the following error message: Error users will see if they attempt to sign in with Javascript disabled. May vary based on browser.

You can find a list of your affected users attached to this email.

What do I need to do?

As an administrator, no action is required from you. As of March 24, 2022, all new sign-in attempts from browsers with JavaScript disabled will be blocked. If any impacted users reach out to you, help them turn on JavaScript in their browsers or enable Chrome Browser management[1] for your organization through the Admin console.

We’re here to help

If you have questions or need assistance, please refer to the guide on how to turn on JavaScript[3].

Thanks for choosing Google Workspace.

Fortunately, I'm already away from Google, using only for Android (which I hate, but I also hate Apple. Love BB).
