OP here. I find w3m a pleasure to use in several ways: great HTML rendering (paragraph breaks also work out of the box), flawless unicode recognition, a nice and tactful way to display images if I want to, and a great barebones UI. But is there a straightforward way to create a left margin for all the rendered pages? Currently, text starts from the first, leftmost column of the screen, resulting in a somewhat cramped, mildly annoying reading experience.
All in all, if, besides w3m, there was also A Flawless, Incredible Pdf2txt Formatter That Never Ever Gets It Wrong, I would have absolutely no need for a GUI or X or even the Unix framebuffer terminal. And a trusty underclocked, IPS-screened 2005-or-so Thinkpad T42 could live forever.
