Ask HN: How to Build Best Docs?

Hi all,

i run a sass application and i want to document some aspects of it as best as possible so it helps both my users and me. The app prepares various kinds of labels for e-commerce and mortar store owners to label their products. The users aren't super technical most of the time.

What are some good docs you know? Can you suggest some DOs and DONT's? Do you prefer some specific structure, search features, media usage, etc?
