Sure. I guess I won't name names, but it happened something like ten years ago. It was for a pretty large online stock trading platform. It was a previous era of my career when I was a full stack web dev. The interview question involved some kind of CSS gotcha. I couldn't figure it out and asked if I could Google it. The interviewers agreed. I pulled up some search results and started looking past the first few because they looked kinda click baity. One of the interviewers said something like, "Whoa, back up and look at the first link. That guy knows what he's talking about; he's the man." So I clicked on it and took a look. But by that time I was pretty nervous and my brain just wasn't working. I looked over the article and couldn't make sense of it quickly enough to figure out the answer. I think I told the interviewers something to that effect. That's when one of them laughed out loud and said, "Oh my god! It's right there in front of you!" I didn't get the job of course.
That situation has replayed a lot of times in my head since then. It was one of those things where I wish I could have done something glorious and snarky to put the guy in his place. Probably best that I didn't do that though. I think reacting defensively like that just incurs an emotional cost.
