I think deepfakes will become a cat-and-mouse games. Deepfake text/images/videos will get more realistic, people will figure ways to "expose" fake deepfakes, and the wheel will keep turning.



Perhaps a hot take but I see this as a good thing. Today people tend to blindly trust videos and photos. If we get to a world where deepfakes are the norm, nobody will trust anything. we’ll need some cryptographically secure mechanism for verifying images haven’t been tampered with.


Interesting observation. Do you think NFTs will rise as a result of this "default perception"?


No, I don’t think that we need to use blockchain for this. I think it’s more like smart chips in credit cards or the various security keys embedded in many devices.

If you take a picture on an iPhone, the iPhone could sign the image.


This will probably change the default perception. Nowadays, if people see something online, they assume it's real. The reverse will prob be true in 10 years.
