The American Civil War was over 150 years ago, and yet "the South" is still considered a distinct entity within the US.



Bullshit. Who in their right mind considers the US separated like that?


Can't speak to folks from New England, but it's very much a thing in the Southeast.

In the sense that someone from a state over would be viewed very differently than someone from up north.

Caveat: This is almost imperceptible in major urban centers, and far more of a thing in rural areas.
