That's a really strange claim. Here's some less strange claims:

Coinbase is behind USDC. Bitfinex is behind Tether.

Tether and USDC are similar, and most of the rest of what you say is true of both. Tether and bitfinex are definitely shadier than Coinbase/USDC.

Oh, sorry! Tether has real problems, but yes, it's Bitfinex, not Coinbase-owned.
