There are also a lot of AI researchers today though. I'm not sure about higher level positions, but for current grad students and postdocs DeepMind is still a very sought after place to work.



Yes but you want the good ones.


I mean it remains sought after in top programs. The field is oversaturated from top to bottom, I don't think they will have any issues attracting talent. Particularly not from this story - every academic department probably has at least one top professor worse than this guy.
