It’s also a bit odd they make no mention of how this young man was selected as the buyer’s alternate.


The young man was 'selected' by daddy, who bought the seat as the runner-up in the auction.


Yes, it’s very unclear. Is the original buyer paying for this teenager too? Or was he was a separate bidder, perhaps the runner-up?


He was one of the runner-ups. His father owns an investment firm.
