No it's not. It's the same logic that by which women choose gender-neutral or masculine nicknames when interacting with strangers on the internet. I do this.



Because you believe that the men of the internet are hostile towards women, you can't do anything to fix that, so it's best to hide?


Because when they complain about being sexually harassed or uncomfortable with the attention they get by being seen as a pair of tits, men invariably say or imply that they're being unreasonable for being offended, which doesn't solve the problem itself (which is that they're offended)?
