"senior" can mean the level 3 years after college hire, all the way up to SVP-level Fellow, despite one of those levels having the specific name of "Senior Engineer" at many companies (often not the same level at different companies!)
No way. There are 3 distinct groups of corp employees: workers or individual contributors (junior, middle, senior), managers (line manager, middle manager, director) and the "money managers" (vp, svp, c-suite). A senior engineer and an svp have nothing in common except the title prefix.
