I have one of these M5Paper devices, and it's quite nice! I quickly ran into issues drawing nice UIs, so my app actually runs server-side and sends back a PNG that the M5 simply renders to the screen. Is it the fastest thing in the world? Absolutely not, but it makes a great ambient display that's only refreshed every few minutes.
