You might want to overthink whether you want to drink that water at all - if such big particles make it through the system, what else does too?

Personally, I filter all the water I drink after it leaves the tap where I currently live... most of the population can’t afford additional filtration or has no idea that it may even be necessary. That’s what infuriates me.

Except if you have very specialized filtration systems, I doubt this helps. The over the counter ones I am pretty sure do not.
