Given the referenced hemisphere model of the brain is largely refuted I find it unlikely this person is a real [competent] psychologist


I don't think psychologists get a lot of training in neuroanatomy.


depends on the degree. BA in psych doesn't usually require it, whereas BS typically does. BA in psych (unfortunately by far the most popular program) is like a sociocultural degree but with pretensions of offering treatment. BS in psych OTOH is reasonably demanding, sort of a pre-med lite. no Ochem and the highest required math is typically some sort of applied stats for health sciences.
