On the flip side, supporting all that backward compatibility has been a massive anchor on Microsoft's ability to move Windows forward from decisions made in the past.


Yeah Microsoft is a like King John signing the Magna Carta to keep the thrown. Apple is like Louis XIV.

Still, as developer on the JVM I find the concept of a "Game of throwns" exceptional.
