It makes more sense if edge and safari are spun out as well. I think in general we can’t just break up google and let everyone else alone, it has to be wide scale otherwise the other giants will just gobble up the difference.
Regarding Mozilla’s diversification — I am not sure, so far default search payments are the only actual significant revenue source. A lot of expansion they are trying to do is just empire building.
Also, if every browser is independent then default search payment becomes more viable since you can no longer guarantee to be default on “your own” platform.
