Most people are in fact not actually in sci-fi videos, and are often in situations where they would not want their device to start beeping and clicking.

If my device started beeping and clicking when I don't want to, then I would mute the sounds. Browsers have a mute feature which allows me to mute the browser separately from other apps.
My device even has a physical mute button. If I don't want my device to start beeping and clicking then I would either not browse some random location I found on the internet (because random locations on the internet are well known for starting sounds) or I would use the device's physical mute button.
That's quite arguably false.
