The brain damage in question is the lack of creativity and laziness. In my country it is common (e.g. among journalists) to:

A. Post on Facebook first (which allows longer text) and then use Twitter to re-post content.

B. Write in Word/Notepad/whatever, take a screenshot and post that.

I find both methods much cleaner and easier to follow than a series of tweets.
