This is a similar use case. I evaluated a bunch of free headless CMS and I really wanted to like Ghost, they even mentioned it's i18n ready, but it wasn't, at least not what I expected like having localized pages. Switched to Strapi following the video they had in the landing page (not the new one landing page, which I feel it lacks in "show don't tell", and it was a breeze, it just works. On my case I'm using Strapi + 11ty + Netlify.
