When you just memorize you lose intuition which is the far more useful portion of learning.



I disagree. Many times when I read technical books I understand the concepts and ideas but I end up forgetting the actual name of the concept or idea. Then when I heard someone talking about it or mentioning somewhere I can't remember which one was it.


You don't really lose anything by memorizing facts. You can still use your intuition for stuff you didn't memorize or forgot.
