Wait, but 433Mhz is what all IoT stuff uses. So there cannot be safe IoT appliances in the US by law?

Within the same band, licensed hams have different rules than the general public; e.g. hams can use higher power.

It looks like 433 MHz is unlicensed in Europe so IoT devices can use it at low power. In the US 900 MHz is used instead.
