I’ve only ever found HBO Go apps to be more reliable than Netflix. Netflix frequently takes forever for content to load, especially heavy menus, and Netflix does a poor job of remembering my place in an episode if I turn it off and switch devices. Additionally, Netflix aggressively blocks VPN traffic, even if I am a US-based customer using US-only VPN locations. Never had any of these problems with HBO apps.
