When interviewing someone to be my manager I asked him since he spoke with such joy about his current job, why he was leaving... It was money. We found out the company he was at got funding a few days later, and although we made an offer he rejected us.
I've interviewed at a company where the environment didn't seem good at all. I always ask whats good about working at a place, and what isn't so good. I found people to be honest about it. I didn't think it was a good fit after thinking about it a bit a decided not to continue.
So when interviewing don't be arrogant. You need help, thats why you are looking for people.
