The supercharger network in Europe is strongly weighted towards the west, there's a map [1].
Texas seems to have 39 superchargers, and the journalist didn't have to wait while others were charging.
So my guess is a 715 mile road trip in the USA would be similar — particularly on a leisure road trip, which is less likely to follow the main motorways.
