Who's going to write this hypothetical web scraper? And update it when the bank website changes? There's a reason the service costs money.

Me. That's the point: I just write the scrapers for the sites only I need, which isn't a lot. And if they change, I simply fix it. I'm willing to bet Mint and others have done exactly this (or are doing it now) as well.

Mint does this for some banks and uses proper APIs for others (Wealthsimple, for example).

All my banking sites are constantly wanting to send me a text to verify a code before I can login. Do you have that problem?
