And please don't post in the flamewar style to HN! We're trying to avoid having this place turn into scorched earth, the internet default.


Very well. The person I was responding to was posting obviously false comments and ignoring correction, though, which seriously compromises the SNR of this forum.


The only flat earth nonsense here is people believing that solar or wind is actually realistically a solution to the worlds energy needs.


It works in certain places. Here in Iowa we get a third of our electricity from wind.


And in denmark they get more but its not reliable which means you have to support it with other more reliable sources such as coal. Which happens all the time.

Plus you use it for almost zero percent of your transportation.


Ours is pretty reliable, out here in the 'plains states'. It's blowing pretty much every day, most of the day.

And our 'support' source is nuclear, curiously.
