This is a classic effectiveness (as Larry the Cable guy says, Git-R-Done) vs efficiency (Git-R-Done faster/better!) discussion.

Ideally, you want effectiveness and efficiency. If you can't have both, you need to be effective before you are efficient, as both of the author's analogies make clear.




I always understood that as:

1. Make it work

2. Make it right

3. Make it fast

Sometimes only getting to 1. is "good enough"


yep. because 1A might yield "FU money!". If not, you have to do 2 because it might not come til 2A. Or 3A.
