Shortly after the accident, a few other Tesla drivers reported similar behavior approaching that exit.

But on the other hand, gores like that can also trick human drivers. Especially if tired, with poor visibility. In heavy rain or whiteout, I typically end up following taillights. But slowly.




Except that software doesn't get tired, and conditions were good. So even if that could trick human drivers those conditions weren't present so do not apply to the case at hand.
