1. Face Id is wildly superior to anything else on the market
2. Apple's processors are still better than either Snapdragon or Exynos chips, though the latter is closing in
3. They still get a lot further on less RAM and battery
4. The iPhone X screen somewhat beats the S8/N8, though potentially not the S9
5. Their force touch implementation is better than Samsung's, too.
I love my note 8 and wouldn't part with it for any iOS device, but suggesting they're entirely noncompetitive is silly.
