When I'm programming, as a backend engineer (like the article's author) I am almost always making use of numerous computers at once: my local hardware, a remote dev instance, remote production instances, databases, etc etc. The one I consider to be "main" is the one I use to input commands, write code, etc. Like the author's iPad Pro.
