If system administration was carpentry, SELinux would be the glue. And sometimes, it's just easier to use screws.



I like your analogy, but I would flip the metaphors. Gluing is fast and easy, using screws requires time and effort.


Consider maintenance of the object in question, now it's a task of removing glue versus screws.
