Ubuntu needs fonts with more emoji to display this.

Firefox ships with emojis to fix this. :)

I'm running Firefox 50.0.2 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. No emojis in the parent article display.

FF50 on debian testing has all the emojis, but chrome on the same machine only has half of them (none of the coloured ones). Weird.

Here's a screenshot from Firefox 50: http://i.cubeupload.com/zlLL8X.png

This article has quite extensive info about emoji support on Linux: http://probablement.net/txt/emojilinux

TL;DR: follow these instructions and you'll get decent emoji support system-wide (albeit black-and-white outside Firefox): https://github.com/eosrei/emojione-color-font#install-on-lin...

I've been looking for something like this for ages- thanks!

However... it needs python on windows, which for complicated reasons I can;t do on this machine... is there a font merger thing that doesn't need python ?
