I had errors with Homebrew and Go this week. In both cases, it was an issue with Websense (also known as Forcepoint). Might your issue be related to that?

Brew claimed it couldn't find the downcase for another package, not Go.

There were bugs in the past few days, but all known ones have been squashed as far as I know, so all you need to do now is

  brew update

at least twice.
