MLC lasts long enough and it is significantly cheaper. That's very logical.



The problem is "long enough" is not... and the manufacturers are continually trying to make that shorter and try to convince you it's "long enough".

IMHO a few years is NOT "long enough" for a nonvolatile storage device. A few decades is more reasonable.
