There are anti-encryption bills looming, and sitting around waiting for them to be proposed in Congress after some future terrorist attack is not going to do us any good.

Unless Obama changes his mind to support encryption, this is a public debate which will eventually start happening in Congress. It's up to us technologists to inform others.
