That protocol does not describe an application or aspects of an application but is rather of the 'transport' variety.


Oh, so you're advocating more open standards at the application layer?


Calendaring is a great example. At least it's possible to get a unified view of my work Exchange calendar and my Google personal calendar, as well as manage both through the web, Siri, or any number of apps on every platform.

That's not possible without an open application protocol. I can't get a similar unified view of my Twitter and Instagram follows, for example.

It's not really a protocol, i'm not sure why you put that link here.

JSON-API is at best, a "schema" for implementing HATEOAS with JSON.

I know a lot of people that clearly disagree with that spec.
